 Cyfronet AGH)\n\nThe training covers the basic use case for a supercompute
 r. \nDuring this training\, you will learn many useful Linux commands tha
 t will allow you to prepare and run a job on a Supercomputer. You will fam
 iliarize yourself with the Linux toolset to make your work on the supercom
 puter more convenient. The training covers basic Bash scripting.\nIt does
  not provide an in-depth description on how to run a job on HPC. That is c
 overed by Running Calculations the HPC way training provided at ACC Cyfro
 net AGH.\nLevel\n\nTarget audience\nTraining is intended for people who ar
 e familiar with the basics of Linux and haven't used a supercomputer yet.
  \nAgenda\n\nEnvironmental variables and storage spaces - learning distin
 ct features of the supercomputer\; variables\, env vars\, export\, $HOME\,
  $SCRATCH\, $USER\, $PLG_GROUPS_STORAGE\,\nFile permissions - understandin
 g ownership of files\; ls -l\, chmod\,\nTransferring files to and from the
  supercomputer - tar\, scp\nRunning a job and viewing results - sbatch\, f
 ind\, grep\, mc\nScripting in bash - for\, sleep\, date\, seq\, bc\n\nRequ
 irements\nWe recommend doing this training after familiarizing with the co
 ntents of Absolute Basics of Linux training provided at ACC Cyfronet AGH
 .\nParticipants' computers should be equipped with software that allows SS
 H connections. On Windows\, it is recommended to use Windows Terminal (not
  to be confused with Powershell after checking if OpenSSH is installed (ru
 n ssh -V in the terminal). We advise against using Putty.\nAt 10:00 am on 
 3rd August 2026\, a dry-run will be held - participation in the dry-run is
  a prerequisite to join the training\, attendance will be marked based on 
 Zoom participant list. Participants will learn how to log in to the Ares s
 upercomputer before the training and resolve any problems with the Trainin
 g Team. In case you cannot come to the dry-run\, please inform us directly
  at training@cyfronet.pl\, otherwise your registration will be cancelled.
