DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Oskar Klimas (ACC Cyfronet AGH)\, Klemens Noga (ACC
Cyfronet AGH)\n\nThe training focuses on running and monitoring jobs on th
e supercomputers. \nThis is the most important training for a novice user
. The main goal is to showcase the general flow of doing calculations on a
supercomputer and present how to configure a job tuned to the problem siz
e and type.\nLevel\n\nTarget audience\nTraining is intended for new users
who just created an account\, ran an example job and want to start running
their own calculations at ACC Cyfronet AGH. \nAgenda\n\nWhat's HPC?\nSto
rage spaces at Cyfronet and how to use them\,\nOverview of the sbatch opti
ons used to run jobs\,\nModules or how to use software on the supercompute
r\,\nJob monitoring in practice\n\nRequirements\nWe recommend doing this t
raining after completing First Time on a Supercomputer training provided
at ACK Cyfronet AGH. \nTechnical prerequisites:\n\nPLGrid account at htt
ps://portal.plgrid.pl/\n\nspecify your PLGrid login in the registration fo
rm\,\nif you don't have it please follow our guide: https://guide.plgrid.p
 l/en/portal-for-science/profile\; \n\n\nan active affiliation at https://
portal.plgrid.pl/users/affiliations\;\naccepting the invitation to the tra

ce it is sent by the Training Team\, for security reasons\, the invitation
will be sent no sooner than a couple of days before the training\;\nSSH c
onnection through Windows Terminal or other means (see below)\;\nattending
the dry-run (see below).\n\nIn case of no active affiliation or PLGrid ac
count\, please contact the organisers at training@cyfronet.pl. \nPartici
pants' computers should be equipped with software that allows SSH connecti
ons. On Windows\, it is recommended to use Windows Terminal (not to be con
fused with Powershell after checking if OpenSSH is installed (run ssh -V i
n the terminal). We advise against using Putty.\nAt 10:00 am on 17th Augus
 t 2026\, a dry-run will be held - participation in the dry-run is a prereq
uisite to join the training\, attendance will be marked based on Zoom part
icipant list.. Participants will learn how to log in to the Ares supercomp
uter before the training and resolve any problems with the Training Team.
In case you cannot come to the dry-run\, please inform us directly at trai
ning@cyfronet.pl\, otherwise your registration will be cancelled. Please a
ttend the dry-run even if your affiliation is not active.\nVenue\nThe work
