DESCRIPTION:Contents\nThe Trillion Parameter Consortium (TPC) seeks to fos
ter open\, collaborative research on the development and deployment of la
rge and massive scale AI models for science. EuroTPC is Europe's coordinat
ed presence within the TPC\, connecting Europe's leading high-performance
computing centres\, AI Factories and research institutions to TPC's intern
ational governance\, working groups and scientific activities.\nThrough ha
ckathons\, the TPC community has catalyzed the acceleration of many indivi
 dual and multi-institutional projects. LRZ\, a EuroTPC partner\, with be h
osting the fall'26 edition of the TPC hackathon. The hackathon will start
 on Wednesday\, September 9\, 2026 to Friday\, September 11\, 2026.\nOver t
he course of the event\, computational scientists and researchers will wor
k hands-on to build a first prototype of their ideas\, or port\, accelerat
e\, scale and optimize existing AI applications for a variety of CPU and G
PU architectures. Each team will be matched with an experienced mentor —
well-versed in both programming techniques and the relevant application d
omain — to help drive tangible progress and speedups through targeted us
e of programming models\, libraries\, and optimization tools.\nHow to get
involved:\n\nJoin a team: If you'd like to participate as part of a team.
Deadline: 24.08.2026\nLead a team: If you have a problem statement of your
own and would like to lead a team. Deadline: 20.07.2026\n\nA detailed age
nda will follow soon. We look forward to welcoming you and seeing what you
build!\nPrerequisites\nTeam leads are expected to be fluent with the code
or project they bring to the event and motivated to make progress during
the hackathon.\nProjects brought to the event are required to have a licen
se attached and detailed in the application. Permissive-style Open Source
License (e.g. BSD\, MIT or Apache 2.0 license) are preferred as it is much
easier for the hackathon organizer to pair your team with Mentors.\nParti
cipants are expected to be fluent with concepts of deep learning.\nLanguag
