DESCRIPTION:This course will take place as an online event. The link to th
e streaming platform will be provided to the accepted registrants only. T
he course will be held in English.\nCourse Content:\nGPU-accelerated compu
ting drives current scientific research. Writing fast numeric algorithms f
or GPUs offers high application performance by offloading compute-intensiv
e portions of the code to the GPU. The course will cover basic aspects of
GPU architectures and programming. Focus is on the usage of the directive-
based OpenACC programming model which allows for portable application deve
lopment. Examples of increasing complexity will be used to demonstrate opt
imization and tuning of scientific applications.\nTopics covered will incl
 ude:\n\nIntroduction to GPU/Parallel computing\nProgramming model OpenACC\
nInteroperability of OpenACC with GPU libraries (like cuBLAS and cuFFT) an
d CUDA\nMulti-GPU Programming with MPI and OpenACC\nTools for debugging an
 d profiling\nPerformance optimization\n\n \nThe course consists of lectur
es and interactive hands-on sessions in C or Fortran (the attendee’s cho
 ice).\nPrerequisites:\nSome knowledge about Linux\, e.g. make\, command li
ne editor\, Linux shell (see for instance this overview)\, some experienc
e in C\nA personal institutional email address (university/research instit
ution\, government agency\, organisation\, or company) is required to regi
ster for JSC training courses. If you don't have an institutional email ad
dress\, please get in touch with the contact person for this course.\nTarg
et Audience:\nScientists who want to use GPU systems with OpenACC\nLanguag
