DESCRIPTION:This course will take place as an online event and is exclusiv
ely targeted at users of the Jülich supercomputers. The link to the stre
aming platform will be provided to the registrants only. The course will
be held in English.\nContent:\nDisclaimer: This course offers the opportu
nity to attend lectures selectively\, based on individual needs and knowle
dge levels. Participants are not required to attend all sessions as some m
ay cover advanced or basic material. While flexibility is offered\, it is
important to assess personal needs and choose sessions accordingly\, as at
tending lectures out of order may result in knowledge gaps.\nResearch Cent
re Jülich provides cutting-edge high-performance computing resources to s
cientific groups and industry partners across Germany and Europe via the J
ohn von Neumann Institute for Computing. To help new users of JSC's superc
omputers efficiently leverage their allocated resources\, we offer an intr
oductory course that covers system basics and best practices.\nThe course
includes theoretical lectures held every afternoon from Monday to Thursday
\, and practical tutorials offered in the mornings from Tuesday to Thursda
 y. The tutorials are based on the previous afternoon's lectures and allow
participants to put theory into practice. We cover a wide range of topics\
, starting from basic log-in procedures to intermediate-level techniques.
Participants are free to choose the lectures that best match their needs a
nd interests.\nTopics covered include:\n\nUser account management with the
  JuDoor portal\nSystem access via SSH\, Jupyter\, and UNICORE\nSystem conf
iguration for JURECA and JUWELS\nFile systems\, I/O\, and data management\
 nSoftware modules (compilers\, MPI\, math libraries\, applications\, debug
