DESCRIPTION:Contents\nThe aim of this course is to provide participants wi
th an introduction to visualisation tools used in molecular modeling\, mat
erial science\, and biophysics. The course consists of short lectures\, de
monstrations\, and hands-on exercises using selected visualisation applica
tions.\nThe topics covered are:\n\nIntroduction to OVITO for visualisation
and analysis of atomistic simulation data\nIntroduction to VESTA for visu
alisation of crystal structures and volumetric data\nIntroduction to VMD f
or visualizstion and analysis of molecular dynamics simulations\nIntroduct
ion to PyMOL for visualisation of biomolecular structures\nTypical use cas
es of visualisation tools in material science and biophysics\nPractical wo
rkflows for inspecting\, visualising\, and presenting molecular and atomis
tic data\n\nSchedule (all times in CET):\n\n10:00 - 11:00: Introduction to
  PyMOL\n11:00 - 12:00: Introduction to OVITO\n12:00 - 13:00: Lunch Break\n
 13:00 - 14:00: Introduction to VESTA\n14:00 - 15:00: Introduction to VMD\n
\nPrerequisites\nNo advanced knowledge of visualisation tools is required.
Basic familiarity with molecular modeling\, material science\, biophysics
\, or scientific computing is recommended.\nHands-On\nDuring the course\,
participants will be introduced to OVITO\, VESTA\, VMD\, and PyMOL through
demonstrations and practical exercises on the virtual HPC cluster RedLion
. They will learn how to access and use selected visualisation tools in an
  HPC-oriented environment\, inspect molecular and atomistic structures\, v
isualise simulation data\, and apply common visualisation workflows in mat
 erial science and biophysics.\n\nhttps://events.hpc-portal.eu/event/545/
