DESCRIPTION: About the Quantum in Practice series\nDiscover the Quantum i
n Practice series\, a continuing program of technical trainings dedicated
to exploring the technologies\, tools\, and real-world applications shapin
 g today’s quantum-computing ecosystem.\nEach session features a leading
quantum technology provider presenting their platforms\, showcasing demon
strations\, and guiding participants through practical exercises that illu
strate how quantum computing can be applied to industrial and scientific c
 hallenges.\n \n\n Session 5 – Alice&Bob: Decode Like a Cat: An Introdu
ction to QEC with Cat Qubits\n🗓 Date: Tuesday\, November 3rd\, 2026 Ti
me: 14:00 – 16:00 CET Format: Online (Webex)🎙 Speakers: Charbel Eid
 « : I’m a specialist in Fault Tolerant Quantum Computing\, in particul
ar\, the first steps in going from highly error prone hardware to a QPU th
at can consistently perform computation. I find myself today in one of the
most interesting environments that someone with my passion can be in\, an
d I love telling people about the things being built here!« \nhttps://ww

In this session\, you will explore the basics of quantum error correctio
n\, understand how it works with cat qubits\, and learn how to decode erro
r correction codes yourself. Sounds complicated\, but it’s basically lik
e Minesweeper!\nYou will then build your own error correction circuit\, ju
st like we do at Alice & Bob. Well… maybe a simpler one.« \n \n\n
About Alice&Bob\nAlice & Bob is building a quantum computer using supercon
ducting Cat Qubits\, a type of qubits that is naturally resistant to bit-f
lips. \nWebsite: https://alice-bob.com/\n \n\n\n The Quantum in Practi
ce series is organized by CC-FR in partnership with the Teratec initiat
 ive TQCI.\n\nhttps://events.hpc-portal.eu/event/598/
