This hands-on workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge needed to use the Komondor supercomputer independently and efficiently. We will cover access options, the hardware environment, compute and storage quotas, and data transfer methods. We will introduce environment modules, the available compilers, building software from source, EasyBuild, and running jobs using the SLURM scheduler. We will also discuss etiquette for using shared resources, working with Python, building and running containers, and accessing Jupyter notebooks. In the final session, practical examples will demonstrate how to compile and run multithreaded (OpenMP), multiprocess (MPI), and GPU-accelerated (CUDA) programs. Each session will include time for questions and discussion.
The workshop is intended for advanced users with a solid IT background, experience using Linux, and possibly prior experience with HPC systems, who would like to complement their study of the documentation by exploring Komondor’s specific features and capabilities through practical examples with instructor support.
Before the workshop, participants will receive a guide with detailed instructions on registering on the HPC portal and logging in to Komondor.
